Although LUSARA
traces its origins to the field of zoology, we are now devoted to doing
research in microbiology and molecular biology.
We are especially
interested in bacterial resistance to antibiotics. We are also investigating
aspects of bacterial responses to oxidative stress. In addition, we
collaborate on clinical trials for new antimicrobial drugs.
Although our proyects
overlap extensively, we have loosely classified them into the following
categories:
